Lakers Get 4th Straight Win with Late Rally
|
The MSL Echo Park Lakers took MSL Ft. Worth pitcher Elia Clarici's best shot and still were able to claim a win at MSL Echo Park Ballpark. The final score had MSL Echo Park getting past the Cattlemen, 4-2. Clarici went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 3. The win was credited to José Chavarría in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Alex Martin took the loss. Rehor Podhola nailed down the save.
Had it not been for Phil Edney, the results might have been different. In the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Lakers were trailing 2-1, Edney hit a 2-run single for MSL Echo Park, giving his team the lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Edney told the MSL Echo Park Chronicle.
The Lakers have a winning streak of 4 games.
