White Walkers Squeeze By MSL Montana, 4-3
|
The MSL Montana Pandas got a sterling performance from pitcher Garry McDonald, but the MSL Buffalo White Walkers still prevailed, 4-3. McDonald threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Derek Pearce snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. Iestyn Covenay suffered the loss. Diego Trevino closed out the game, earning his 7th save.
MSL Buffalo used a timely hit from Stephen Bence to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the White Walkers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Bence told the MSL Buffalo Observer.
MSL Buffalo is now 10-12. MSL Montana is 4-18.
