Mockingbirds Top Bullets to Even Record
|
The MSL Baltimore Bullets got a sterling performance from designated hitter Juan Flores, but the MSL Mississippi Mockingbirds still prevailed, 6-4. Flores went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Alex Wicksted, the winner, improved to 4-1. He held the Bullets to 3 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3. Lambert Fierant finished to wrap up his 7th save.
Edward Roberson, who is tied for 8th in the SMSL with a .345 batting average, helped out the MSL Mississippi cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Roberson told the MSL Mississippi News.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for MSL Mississippi.
