Bullets Winners, 5-1, Over Blue Demons
|
A good performance from third baseman Mario Arteaga helped the MSL Baltimore Bullets defeat the MSL Mexico City Blue Demons, 5-1. Arteaga went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Bullets. Lorenzo García was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he yielded 1 run on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Jesús Costa closed it out for MSL Baltimore, earning his 2nd save.
Had Arteaga not come through in the top of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Arteaga hit a run-scoring double. The Bullets took the lead, 2-1, and never looked back.
"We've got a great group of guys," Arteaga said, "and we're having fun right now."
The second-place Bullets lifted their record to 16-8.
