5 Straight Wins for Lighthouse
|
The 8-5 MSL Long Island win over MSL Buffalo was due largely to Zhang Peng. The Lighthouse third baseman was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Carlos Ruíz, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 10th save. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Lighthouse.
Had You-yi Yee not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Yee hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Lighthouse.
"We take it day by day here," said Yee, "and today was a good one for us."
