|
Héctor Sánchez, who leads the SMSL in strikeouts with 68, propelled his team to victory over the MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen. The final score was 4-3, MSL Long Island. Sánchez, now 5-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 3 runs. Carlos Ruíz got the save, the 12th for him this season.
You-yi Yee hit a run-scoring triple off Vuk Stanjevic in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Lighthouse in front, 3-2. Yee had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said MSL Ft. Worth manager Alwin Vreekamp.
