Kingfishers 5-1 Victors Over MSL Montana
|
MSL Pittsburgh Ballpark was the site for USSL Mexican Summer League action featuring the MSL Montana Pandas and MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers.
The MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers racked up a win at MSL Pittsburgh Ballpark, bumping off the MSL Montana Pandas, 5-1. Reece Carne, who started for MSL Pittsburgh, pitched effectively for his team. The 5th-place Kingfishers have a record of 18-16.
Cheuk-yan Loong had a big 3-run home run for the Kingfishers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With MSL Pittsburgh leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Gideon Bairstow and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Kingfishers on top, 5-1.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Carne. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
