Elite Suffer One-Run Loss at MSL Philadelphia
The MSL Philadelphia Liberty and MSL Detroit Elite played an entertaining game for MSL Liberty Ballpark patrons.

The MSL Philadelphia Liberty earned a close win over the MSL Detroit Elite, thanks in part to Gil Chapman. The MSL Philadelphia right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the SMSL in innings pitched with 73.1, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Denis Teissier closed it out for MSL Philadelphia, earning his 14th save.

The Elite had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Liberty going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old right fielder César Castillo came to the plate. Castillo hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 fastball from MSL Detroit hurler Rene Hak. It was Castillo's 4th double of the year.

"Tough loss," said MSL Detroit manager Valentín Robles. "But we'll learn from it."

With this game in the books, MSL Philadelphia is 26-12, MSL Detroit 14-24.
