Late Rally by Lakers Secures 5-2 Win
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the MSL Echo Park Lakers and MSL Panama City Piranhas.
MSL Echo Park starter Luis Torrez pitched well against the MSL Panama City Piranhas at MSL Panama City Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. Picking up the save was 17-year old left-handed pitcher Lucas Leroy.
It could have been a different outcome for MSL Echo Park, had it not been for Grigorii Chasovschikov, the 17-year old center fielder . Chasovschikov contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the ninth inning to put MSL Echo Park up, 3-2.
"We came out on top and that's all I can ask for," said Torrez.
The Lakers move to 15-24 with the win, while the Piranhas drop to 18-21.
