84s Win at MSL Mexico City, 6-1
|
The MSL Greenville 84s downed the MSL Mexico City Blue Demons, 6-1. The hitting star was center fielder Edgardo Castro. Castro was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the 84s. Juan Zanudo, the winning pitcher, is now 4-4. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 10 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 2. The save went to Dereje Bagatui, number 2 for him.
MSL Greenville used the hitting of Henry Trommel to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the 84s on top, 3-0. For the game, Trommel had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Castro said in reaction to the win.
The 84s raised their record to 16-24.
