Liberty Rally Late to Nip Grey Wolves
Bill Griggs, who is tied for 3rd in the SMSL in strikeouts with 80, never let the Grey Wolves get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Liberty to a win, 1-0. Griggs, the winner, moves to 5-6. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. The Liberty improved to 21-23.

MSL Philadelphia needed the clutch hitting of Anton Manaenkov to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Liberty on top, 1-0. For the game, Manaenkov had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Manaenkov.
