Consiglio Shuts Out MSL Montana
Edoardo Consiglio of the MSL Philadelphia Liberty was on top of his game.

The 18-year-old tantalized the MSL Montana Pandas with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 5-0.

"He had the changeup working," MSL Montana manager Mario Ruíz said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The MSL Philadelphia hurler had 9 strikeouts, gave up 2 walks and surrendered 2 hits in his complete-game effort.

Consiglio told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."

"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.

So far this season, Consiglio has a 7-3 record, 15 starts, 98 innings, 78 strikeouts and a 3.03 ERA.
