The Panama City Piranhas beat the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 5-4, at The Tank. The Piranhas got a fine performance from center fielder Victor Fleming, who was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Raymond Thomas, who is tied for 9th in the SL in innings pitched with 98.1, was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Today's win puts Panama City at 35-37, while Pittsburgh falls to 40-32.
The Piranhas got a big at-bat from second baseman Oscar Worthy. For the game, Worthy went 2-5 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 21st double of the season gave Panama City a 5-4 lead.
