Boston pitcher Eric Buchanan did his part in helping his team beat the Buffalo White Walkers, 8-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. David Sullivan earned the save, his 1st. Boston sits at 1-1 in the early going.

Boston won the game in part because of Jean Kools. The first baseman ripped a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Patriots ahead, 2-0. For the game, Kools had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
