The Philadelphia Liberty picked up a win at LA Forum, dropping the Echo Park Lakers, 5-4. Al Ivey, who is tied for 5th in the SL in innings pitched with 101.1, was the difference-maker. Philadelphia is now 38-35, Echo Park 39-34.
This game was not decided until Nick Coleman came to bat in the top of the ninth. With the bases loaded and one out, the Philadelphia center fielder hit a sacrifice fly. The Liberty took the lead, 5-4.
"Both teams played hard," said Philadelphia manager Geoff Matt.
