Mockingbirds Reel Off Another Win
|
Mockingbirds center fielder Celestino Pvoas put his stamp on his team's 7-3 win over the Montana Pandas. Pvoas went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for Memphis in the contest. The winning pitcher was former first round draft pick Eddie Daniel. He tossed 103 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. The third-place Mockingbirds now sit at 42-33.
The Mockingbirds had to work out of trouble in the top of the seventh. The score was 6-3, Memphis, with two out. Montana, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. Basilio Penni dug in at the plate, but on a 1-1 slider, he flied out.
