The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Darryl Stansberry came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Toronto pitcher Bob Hickey, he hit a 1-0 changeup for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Buffalo on top, 5-4.

"Nice win for us," said Qutaybah. "Now we'll go after the next one."
