Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Montana Pandas and Vancouver Grey Wolves.

The Montana Pandas downed the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 5-3, at Wolf Den in Vancouver. Miguel Alonso led the way, going 3-for-4 for Montana. The winner was Uhi Ahipene, who threw 90 pitches over 8 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 4 hits. Pablo Gonzáles sewed up the save, his 7th.

Montana used a well-timed hit by Rafael Cruz to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Pandas ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Cruz.

The Pandas go to 22-54 with the win.
