Road Win Lifts Idaho Falls to 1-0 Lead in R1
|
One game in and the 3L A Championship is already looking exhausting.
The Idaho Falls Chukars and the Columbia River Rats needed 10 innings to settle Game 1, with the Chukars finally taking the 5-1 victory at Columbia Stadium. Excelling in the win was Idaho Falls pitcher Fernando Rodríguez, who threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The Chukars and River Rats are playing a best-of-3 series.
Idaho Falls used the timely hitting of Dani Soto to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Chukars on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Exciting game to play in," said Soto. "Getting the win makes it even better."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Columbia Stadium in Columbia.
