Philadelphia Win Evens Series at 1
|
Behind a bravura effort from starter Nick Jacobs, the Philadelphia Liberty U-21 topped the Bompton Baby Lakers by the score of 6-2 and got their first win in the 2061 SL R Championship. Jacobs threw 8.1 innings allowing 2 runs for the Liberty U-21. The win moves Philadelphia into a 1-1 tie with Bompton.
Armando Madrid, the Philadelphia first baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 3-0, Liberty U-21. For the game, Madrid was 1-4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We're happy," Jacobs told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 11th , 2061 at Ballpark of Liberty in Kansas City.
