Behind a bravura effort from starter Cristóbal Félix, the South Beach Blaze topped the Grim Reapers by the score of 6-3 and got their first win in the 2058 PL A Championship. Félix threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs for the Blaze. The win moves South Beach into a 1-1 tie with Grim.

In the bottom of the second, South Beach center fielder Jorge González had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, González stroked a 3-run home run to right-center. It made the score 3-0, South Beach. For the game, he was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said South Beach manager Jorge Silva.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at The Coffin in Gladwin.
