Road Win Lifts Niagara Falls to 1-0 Lead in R1

Their bats were silent and Niagara Falls had a rookie on the mound. No problem.
On a day when the Expos struggled to string together much offense, the club got a big boost from 20-year-old starter Fjodor Ishemgujin. The right-hander quieted the Rocky Mountain Vibes at Bellevue Field to help Niagara Falls take the 3-1 decision and seize a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-3 3L A Championship.
Niagara Falls used the hitting of Brandon Sosa to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Expos on top, 2-0. For the game, Sosa had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Ishemgujin.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bellevue Field in Bellevue.
