The Montreal Machine powered past the hometown Pennsauken Flyers, 4-3, in the opener of the PL AAA Championship at Pennsauken Park. Montreal starting pitcher Luke Little threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Machine now lead the series 1-0.
Henny Clerq had a direct impact on the outcome. Clerq contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Montreal up, 2-1.
After the game, Montreal manager Alfonso Vera applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Pennsauken Park in Pennsauken Township.
