How Sweep it Is! Flint Wins 3L R Championship
|
The Flint Crush ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Greenport Harbor Whales 6-0 to win the 3L R Championship.
Flint won the series 2-0, capturing the title for the 1st time.
"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Flint manager Michael Woodard. "It's a great feeling."
The champs finished the regular season 61-35 and claimed first place in the Menard's Low A.
In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and starting pitcher Armando Guzmán said the Crush have "great fans and they deserve this."
"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
