Road Win Lifts Gulf Coast to 1-0 Lead in R1
With left fielder Reginald Parker leading the charge, the Gulf Coast Turbeaus got a road win over the Asheville Highlanders, 8-7, in Game 1 of the SL AA Championship. Parker went 2 for 3 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once at Asheville Park to help Gulf Coast take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series.

Parker had an important at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the eighth, when he hit a 2-run single. The Turbeaus went on to win.

"We maximized our offense today," said Gulf Coast skipper Neal Davis. "That makes everyone's life easier."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Asheville Park in Asheville.
