SL AA Championship Game 1 Victory for Carlson and Gulf Coast
The SL AA Championship got off to a quiet start, with the host Gulf Coast Turbeaus taking a low-scoring, 2-1 win over the Asheville Highlanders. Gulf Coast right-hander Michael Carlson was marvelous at Mobile Home Park. The Turbeaus now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series.

Mark Glenn aided the Gulf Coast cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 4.

"We found a way to get it done," Carlson said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mobile Home Park in Mobile.
