Loons Hammered by Bell, Drop Game 1 to Screaming Eagles

A clutch 10th inning gave the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles a walk-off win over the Minnesota Loons and a 1-0 lead in the PL AA Championship at Mercer Island Grounds. Young first baseman Adam Bell, 24, earned kudos after he went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.
In the bottom of the tenth, Dave Powell came to bat with the game in the balance. And he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single off Minnesota pitcher Brad Carter.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Bell.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mercer Island Grounds in Mercer Island.
