With Ryan Lowry leading the charge, the Marquette Miners defeated the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 6-4. Lowry hit 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for the Miners. Marquette starter Marcus Thomas was credited with the win after throwing 87 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 8-6. Jody Dunn earned the save, his 23rd in 25 tries.

With Marquette leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Lowry hit a cutter from Carter King for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Miners ahead, 5-0.

Marquette manager Andrés Pérez was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.

The Miners bumped their record to 58-45 with this win.
