Toledo Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R1
|
The Toledo Stingers moved to within one game of the ToC Semi-Finals, downing the visiting Hollywood Shredders at Pacesetter Park by a score of 5-4. Stingers catcher Ernesto Reyes did some major damage. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs. The win gives the Stingers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 ToC First Round.
Had Reyes not come through in the bottom of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Reyes hit a run-scoring single. The Stingers took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Reyes.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Pacesetter Park in Toledo.
