Alexander, Atoms Wallop Fighting Imps in Game 2 of R1
|
Bethesda shortstop Brett Alexander was the difference-maker for the Atoms in what turned into a shootout with the Ithaca Fighting Imps. Alexander earned accolades after going 2-for-3 in the 6-2 Atoms win. With the victory, the Atoms moved into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-3 series.
In the bottom of the fifth, Bethesda left fielder John Curry had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Curry stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 3-1, Bethesda. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
Curry attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Imps Park in Ithaca.
