Road Win Lifts Mercer Island to 1-0 Lead in R1
|
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles powered past the hometown Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 8-2, in the opener of the PL AA Championship at Ghost Crab Park. Mercer Island starting pitcher Charles Siddorn threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Screaming Eagles now lead the series 1-0.
Siddorn, a native of Kingston upon Hull, England, was dealing all game. He kept Chesapeake hitters off-balance, while giving the Screaming Eagles 7.2 quality innings. Siddorn threw 114 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 7.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Siddorn said. "We did a good job of that today."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ghost Crab Park in Bowie.
