Buchanan, Boston Open R2 Strong with 3-2 Win
|
The Boston Patriots powered past the visiting New Orleans Voodoo, 3-2, in the opener of the ToC Semi-Finals at Dunkin Donuts Park. Boston starting pitcher Eric Buchanan threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Patriots now lead the series 1-0.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when shortstop Tyrone Higgins, who finished 5th in the PL in stolen bases with 21 in 2059, hit a double. The Patriots went on to win.
"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Higgins said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dunkin Donuts Park in Boston.
