Series Lead Cut to 1 for Northern Virginia After 3-1 Loss
The Toledo Stingers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, winning, 3-1, at Pacesetter Park. Stingers second baseman Bob Matthews was 2-4 with 2 triples. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Stingers to 2-1 in the best-of-5 ToC Semi-Finals.

Garland, Texas native Bob Matthews had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the eighth for the Stingers. With Toledo trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run triple.

Matthews attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Pacesetter Park in Toledo.
