Patriots Clip Thunder, 4-3, in R2 Contest
|
The Boston Patriots and the Toronto Thunder will take the ToC Semi-Finals to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Patriots beat the Thunder, 4-3, at Thunder Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Boston right-hander Roy Roberts had a big role in the win. He threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Bill Meeks? The slick-fielding third baseman Meeks stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Boston up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Roy pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Boston manager Brian Fahie.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 13th , 2062 at Dunkin Donuts Park in Boston.
