The Toledo Stingers started the ToC Semi-Finals in style, downing the visiting St. Louis Coeur at Pacesetter Park by a score of 6-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Stingers right fielder Evan Cook went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

Don Weaver chipped in a 2-run home run for Toledo in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.

"I think it speaks for itself, I think we came out and we played our kind of baseball," said Cook.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Pacesetter Park in Toledo.
