The Toledo Stingers started the Tournament of Champions in style, downing the visiting Toronto Thunder at Pacesetter Park by a score of 7-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Stingers shortstop Morgan Reynolds was 2-2 with a home run and a walk.

Joaquín Rodríguez helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run double. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Stingers.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Rodríguez, "one at-bat at a time."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Pacesetter Park in Toledo.
