Toronto Win Evens Series at 1
|
The Toronto Thunder went the distance and then some at Pacesetter Park to drag themselves back into a tie with the Toledo Stingers.
It took 11 innings to settle Game 2 of the Tournament of Champions, but Toronto eventually took the 5-2 win behind the efforts of pitcher Brandon Fox. Fox threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball to aid the Toronto cause. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-7 series.
Michael Barry came through with a big-time hit for Toronto. The shortstop smacked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
In postgame comments, Barry said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, October 18th , 2062 at Thunder Field in Toronto.
