Matthews Blasts Stingers, Thunder Take Game 4, 7-3
The Toronto Thunder defeated the Toledo Stingers, 7-3, in Game 4 of the Tournament of Champions. Making an impact was right fielder John Matthews, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win moves Toronto into a 2-2 tie with Toledo in the series.

There was more than one reason the Thunder beat the Stingers, but Matthews's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-0 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.

"I like our moxie," said Thunder manager Jordan Smith.

Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday at Pacesetter Park in Toledo.
