Northern Virginia Wins Game 4 in Extras; On Verge of R4
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids went into extra innings against the Seattle Rocketeers but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 4. The Rainbow Mermaids downed the Rocketeers at Boeing Dome by a score of 7-4. Northern Virginia left-hander Wes Johnston had a solid outing. He came in in relief and pitched to 26 batters. The win gives the Rainbow Mermaids a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Tournament of Champions.

Northern Virginia used the timely hitting of Always Wright to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Wes's as tough as he is talented," said Northern Virginia manager David Lister.

The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, October 20th , 2060 at Atlantica in Hampton.
