Late Magic Gets Montana 5-3 Win
|
Ft. Worth got a big-time effort from pitcher Seung-gwan Kim, but it wasn't enough to keep the Montana Pandas from winning the game, 5-3. Kim threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Alex Wilson, who is tied for 10th in the SL in holds with 4, picked up the win in relief. Joe Jenkins took the loss for Ft. Worth. The save went to Martin Luther, number 10 for him.
Had Ken Ervin not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Ervin hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Pandas.
"Winning never gets dull," said Ervin.
Montana has now won 3 straight, while the Cattlemen have lost 4 in a row.
