The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids beat the Boston Patriots, 6-5, at Atlantica. Northern Virginia third baseman Garry Park, who is tied for 7th in the PL with a .387 on-base percentage, collected 1 single and 1 double with 1 run batted in. The defeat makes Boston 10-9.

James Murphy had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Rainbow Mermaids. Coming up with the bases loaded and Northern Virginia trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Murphy. "And not try to do too much."
