The Philadelphia Liberty outlasted Basilio Penni and the Montana Pandas, 8-7. Penni was impressive in the loss. The Montana third baseman was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs. The 6th-place Liberty are now 42-38, the Pandas 43-37.

The Liberty got a clutch hit from center fielder Nick Coleman. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Liberty.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Coleman said in his postgame press conference.
