Gaufi Slugs 2 Home Runs, Shredders Beat Dirty Reds, 7-5
|
Good production from first baseman Alanzo Gaufi helped the Hollywood Shredders topple the Dayton Dirty Reds, 7-5. Gaufi went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Shredders. The 9th-place Shredders are 31-52.
Gaufi had a timely hit for Hollywood in the bottom of the eighth. With Dayton trailing 5-3, he turned a first pitch fastball into a grand slam home run. It was his 21st home run of the season, making it 7-5, Hollywood.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Gaufi told a Hollywood Observer reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
