Ft. Worth Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Well, that's how to end a game in style.
Getting a good performance from third baseman Julius Sharp, the Ft. Worth Cattlemen defeated the Echo Park Lakers, 5-2. Sharp went 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Cattlemen. Ft. Worth reliever John Allen picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Francisco Aguilar absorbed the loss.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Sharp hit a fastball from Francisco Aguilar for a 3-run home run. The Cattlemen, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Julius is still learning," said Cattlemen manager Scott Thompson. "The sky's the limit for him."
The Cattlemen go to 42-41, putting them 6th in the Silver League.
