Long Island Gets Another L

The Coeur kept their hot streak going.
The St. Louis Coeur defeated the Long Island Lighthouse, 6-5, at The Lighthouse. St. Louis was led by 25-year old center fielder Mal Parker, who was 2-3 with 2 triples and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Justin Brammer, the winner, is now 12-3. He struck out 6 and walked 2 over 7 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 11 hits. The save went to Steve Thomas, number 9 for him.
Parker had a game-changing triple in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch cutter from Jeff Tate, he banged a 2-run triple to left-center, giving the Coeur a 3-2 lead. It was the 4th triple of the year for Parker.
"The guys come to the ballpark ready," said Coeur manager Scott McMahon. "They're going out there and doing the simple things right."
The 56-28 Coeur have won 10 games in a row.
