Stingers Lose Late to Thunder
The Toronto Thunder, despite a fine performance by Toledo pitcher Puhi Paselio, grabbed a 3-1 win at Thunder Field. Paselio allowed 1 run over 6.1 innings. Reliever Bill Ramírez picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Dave Hanna took the loss. François Delattre, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.

The Thunder used some clutch hitting to beat the Stingers, a good example being the at-bat of Fuzzy Benas in the bottom of the eighth. With two down, Benas gave his team the lead, 3-1, when he hit a 2-run triple.

"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Benas after the game.

The loss makes Toledo 11-9.
