Cattlemen Earn Late 2-1 Win
|
Starting pitcher Chase Davis gave the Ft. Worth Cattlemen a rock-solid effort. The Yakima, Washington native helped his team defeat the Las Vegas Flamingos, 2-1, at The Cattle Pen. Reliever John Allen picked up the win. His record improves to 4-2. Elton Ray, who finished 5th in the SL in saves with 19 in 2047, took the loss. The win gives Ft. Worth a season record of 43-42.
Ft. Worth got a knockout punch from Hanskarl Hümmel. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Davis said.
