Cattlemen Nipped, 5-3, by Las Vegas

Gilberto Malfeito, who finished 5th in the SL in strikeouts with 124 in 2059, had a strong outing for the Las Vegas Flamingos against the Ft. Worth Cattlemen at The Cattle Pen. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Miguel Hernández was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Seung-gwan Kim. Derek Carter wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
Las Vegas relied on the hitting of Bob Davis to pick up the win. The third baseman ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Flamingos on top, 2-1. For the game, Davis had 1 triple and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Flamingos manager Tom Williams.
Las Vegas is now 36-50, Ft. Worth 43-43.
