Kingfishers Decked By Bowties, 10-1
|
The Buckhead Bowties pinned a convincing loss on the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 10-1, at 5 Paces Park. Felipe Madrid was a main factor in the win. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for Buckhead. The win was credited to 27-year old right-handed pitcher Ken Hickton in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Jacob Cox took the loss. The 6th-place Bowties now have a record of 44-42.
With Buckhead leading 6-1 in the bottom of the eighth, Madrid batted against Pittsburgh pitcher Jayden Mcquade. Madrid hit a fastball to right for a grand slam home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Bowties on top, 10-1.
Madrid told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
