With 4-2 Win, Kingfishers Improve to 47-40
|
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers and Philadelphia Liberty played an exciting game.
Pittsburgh Kingfishers starter Richard Miller turned in a top-notch performance against the Philadelphia Liberty at Liberty Park. The result was a win for the Kingfishers, 4-2. Miller, the winner, moves to 9-3. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up no walks. Cipriano Flores sewed up the save, his 21st.
Pittsburgh used the hitting of Les Lumsden to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Kingfishers on top, 4-2. For the game, Lumsden had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Pittsburgh manager Tyler Johnson.
The Kingfishers are now 47-40.
