Vancouver Stopped, 4-2, by Echo Park
|
Echo Park pitcher Naohiro Ueno had a large part in his team subduing the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Ueno, now 6-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Francisco Aguilar closed the door for Echo Park, picking up his 12th save of the year.
Danny Carey, who is rated as the 7th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Echo Park cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the designated hitter went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
After the game, Echo Park manager Jordan Calhoun applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The 4th-place Lakers sport a record of 47-40.
