Kingfishers Earn Late 4-3 Win
|
Well, that's how to end a game in style.
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers defeated the Montana Pandas, 4-3, in 15 innings. Kelsey Tate led the way, going 2-for-5 for Pittsburgh. The winner in relief was Ernest Cooley. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. He now owns a record of 4-3.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 15th. With one out, Tate hit a fastball from Joey Greco for a solo home run. The Kingfishers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Both teams played hard," said Pittsburgh manager Tyler Johnson.
Pittsburgh raised its record to 48-40 with the win.
