Northern Virginia took on Boston in front of a lively crowd.

The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids beat the Boston Patriots, 13-3, at Atlantica. Rafael García, who is tied for 8th in the PL in total bases with 41, starred for Northern Virginia. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The loss makes Boston 10-10.

The Rainbow Mermaids got an important contribution from designated hitter José Mondragon, who in the bottom of the third knocked a 1-0 fastball to center for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 10-0.

"Nice to score a bunch of runs," said Mondragon after the game.
